ABSTRACT Remote sensing through band ratio techniques for nutritional monitoring of clonal eucalyptus plantations is essential to guarantee health and productivity, reducing costs of forestry enterprises. The objective was to apply vegetation indices from high resolution satellite images in the nutritional diagnosis of macronutrients in plantations of clonal hybrids of Eucalyptus urophylla S. T. Blake. The study was carried out in 62 areas of six municipalities in the state of Bahia under cultivation of homogeneous eucalyptus plantations, aged between 1.3 and 1.8 years. The design was completely randomized with six treatments constituted by the rainfall regime (1000 to 1300 mm year-1 and 1300 to 1600 mm year-1) and soil types (class and texture). The nutritional diagnosis of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) was performed from leaf analysis and determination of vegetation indices: normalized difference vegetation (NDVI), normalized difference water index (NDWI) and soil adjusted vegetation index (SAVI). The evaluated areas have high vigor (NDVI > 0.70) and the highest values were observed in the rainy regions (1300 to 1600 mm year-1) (mean of 0.78). The NDWI index presents the highest correlation for the average levels of Ca and Mg. The NDVI, NDWI and SAVI indexes present a strong correlation with each other (-0.97 to 1.00) and can help in mapping vigor and consequently in eucalyptus productivity.

RESUMO O sensoriamento remoto, por meio das técnicas de razão de bandas para o monitoramento nutricional de plantios clonais de eucalipto, é fundamental para garantir a sanidade, produtividade e reduzir custos de empreendimentos florestais. Objetivou-se aplicar índices de vegetação a partir de imagens de satélite de alta resolução na diagnose nutricional de macronutrientes em plantios de híbridos clonais de Eucalyptus urophylla S. T. Blake. O estudo foi realizado em 62 áreas de seis municípios do estado da Bahia sob cultivo de plantios homogêneos de eucalipto, com idades entre 1,3 e 1,8 anos. O delineamento foi inteiramente casualizado com seis tratamentos constituídos pelo regime pluviométrico (1000 a 1300 mm ano-1 e 1300 a 1600 mm ano-1) e tipos de solo (classe e textura). A diagnose nutricional de nitrogênio (N), fósforo (P), potássio (K), cálcio (Ca), magnésio (Mg) e enxofre (S) foi realizada a partir da análise foliar e da determinação dos índices de vegetação: índice de vegetação por diferença normalizada (NDVI), índice de diferença normalizada da água (NDWI) e índice de vegetação ajustado ao solo (SAVI). As áreas avaliadas possuem alto vigor (NDVI > 0,70) e os maiores valores foram observados nas regiões chuvosas (1300 a 1600 mm ano-1) (médio de 0,78). O índice NDWI apresenta maior correlação para os teores médios de Ca e Mg. Os índices NDVI, NDWI e SAVI apresentam forte correlação entre si (-0,97 a 1,00) e podem auxiliar no mapeamento do vigor e consequentemente na produtividade de eucalipto.

RESUMO Objetivou-se com esta pesquisa analisar a viabilidade econômica na fabricação de esquadrias em uma carpintaria, mediante dois cenários de produção, antes e após modelagem pela pesquisa operacional. Quantificou-se os custos e receitas anuais, sendo estes projetados para um horizonte de 30 anos. A análise econômica contemplou o Valor Presente Líquido (VPL), Valor Periódico Equivalente (VPE) e a Razão Receita/Custo (R/C). Após análise da produção padrão da carpintaria, aplicou-se a modelagem para maximização do lucro com base no quantitativo de cada sortimento a ser produzido. A produção padrão mostrou viabilidade para todos indicadores, todavia a implementação da pesquisa operacional proporcionou aumento de 57,54 % para os indicadores VPL e VPE e de 11,29% para a R/C. Aplicando-se a análise de sensibilidade após a modelagem, percebeu-se que mesmo com aumento de 10% nos custos de mão de obra ou no preço da madeira, o valor obtido para o indicador VPL foi superior quando comparado ao cenário padrão, antes da modelagem e sem aplicação da análise de sensibilidade.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the economic feasibility of manufacturing frames in a carpentry company through two scenarios, including the production before and after modeling using operational research. The annual costs and revenues were quantified considering a horizon of 30 years. The economic analysis included the following criteria: Net Present Value (NPV), Equivalent Periodic Value (EPV) and Revenues Cost Ratio (R/C). The modeling was applied after analysis of the standard production using an objective function to maximize the company’s profit based on the quantity of each assortment to be produced. The standard production showed economic feasibility for all evaluated indicators, however implementing the operational research provided an increase of 57.54% for the NPV and EPV indicators, and 11.29% for the R/C ratio. In applying the sensitivity analysis after modeling, it was noticed that the value obtained for the NPV indicator was higher, even with a 10% increase in labor costs or in the price of wood, when compared to the standard production scenario before the modeling and without applying sensitivity analysis.

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to use the geotechnology study as a planning tool in determining the costs of forest extraction. The research was carried out in areas of the Forest Company that operates in the southern region of Bahia, Brazil. The work was developed in two stages, the first corresponding to the determination of production costs of the forwarder and the second in the machine’s productivity, taking as parameter the project area and the distance of extraction. The proposed methodology allowed to estimate with precision the distance of extraction, being this variable of great influence in the costs of forest extraction. The evaluated project presented 256.30 hectares of eucalyptus plantation, divided into 10 plots, with an extraction mean distance of 200 meters. According to the study, it would require the value of US$ 102,575.33 for the extraction of the wood from the project evaluated.

RESUMO A execução de um projeto florestal deve ser norteada por ferramentas de análise econômica, de forma que se possa respaldar os investimentos realizados. Objetivou-se neste trabalho promover uma análise econômica e de sensibilidade em projetos de reflorestamento de eucalipto na microrregião de Vitória da Conquista, BA. Utilizou-se como critério o Valor Presente Líquido, a Taxa Interna de Retorno, o Valor Periódico Equivalente e o Custo Médio de Produção. A análise de sensibilidade foi realizada através da variação da taxa anual de juros, da produção e do preço da madeira. O custo de implantação apresentou valor de 2.091,92 reais/ha. Se tratando do processo de condução, obteve-se um valor de 915,29 reais/ha, corrigidos para o ano zero. Apesar da característica de longo prazo, a atividade florestal constituiu alternativa de renda para os pequenos produtores, apresentando viabilidade econômica em todos os critérios avaliados.

ABSTRACT The implementation of a forestry project should be guided by tools of economic analysis in order to endorse investments made. This work aimed to promote an economic and sensitivity analysis of eucalyptus reforestation projects in the microregionof Vitoria da Conquista - BA, using the Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Journal Equivalent Value and Production Average Cost as well as to perform a sensitivity analysis, by varying the production annual interest rate and the price of wood. The implementation cost was $2,091.92 reais. Tconsideration of the execution process yielded a value of $915.29 reais, corrected for the year zero. Despite being long-term process, forestry activities are a good alternative to diversify production and income for small producers, presenting an economic viability for all criteria evaluated.

A pesquisa foi desenvolvida no município de Vitória da Conquista, Estado da Bahia, com o objetivo de avaliar a qualidade de vida de funcionários no setor madeireiro, utilizando-se a metodologia WHOQOL-bref. Foram aplicados 100 questionários com 26 questões cada, subdividas em quatro domínios: sete pertencentes ao físico; seis ao psicológico; oito ao meio ambiente, e três referentes às relações sociais, além de duas questões de autoavaliação relacionadas a condições de saúde e qualidade de vida. Nesse último domínio, os funcionaram relataram estar satisfeitos em relação à qualidade de vida. O domínio 'meio ambiente' apresentou menor grau de satisfação, em virtude da elevada concentração de particulados em suspensão, das temperaturas expressivas no ambiente de trabalho e dos altos índices de ruídos produzidos pelas máquinas de processamento e beneficiamento. Percebe-se, portanto, a importância da ergonomia, num contexto global, para melhoria da qualidade de vida dos trabalhadores, com ênfase nos aspectos físicos, cognitivos e organizacionais do trabalho.

This research was carried out in the municipality of Vitoria da Conquista, State of Bahia, aiming to evaluate the quality of life of workers from the wood sector utilizing the WHOQOL-bref methodology. We applied 100 questionnaires containing 26 questions subdivided into four areas: seven questions relating to the physical aspect, six questions regarding the psychological aspect, eight concerning the environment, and three with respect to the social relations, besides two self-assessment questions related to health and quality of life. The workers reported being satisfied with their quality of life. The domain 'environment' presented a lower level of satisfaction because of the high concentration of particulates in the air, high temperatures in the working environment, and high level of noise produced by the processing machinery. In general, it was possible to observe the importance of ergonomics in the improvement of the quality of life of workers, with emphasis on the physical, cognitive and organizational aspects.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o perfil impactante do processo de inovação tecnológica na colheita florestal. Analisou-se o processo de inovação quando da mudança do subsistema tradicional (Motosserra + Forwarder) para o inovado (Feller Buncher + Clambunk Skidder). Utilizou-se um método consolidado para avaliação de impacto ambiental da inovação tecnológica na agropecuária, que avalia o desempenho ambiental de uma dada metodologia ou tecnologia em relação àquela previamente estabelecida. O método foi adaptado para avaliação de impactos na colheita florestal. Os impactos foram analisados para os indicadores dos meios físico (atmosfera; solo, água); biótico (flora e fauna) e antrópico (emprego; saúde, paisagismo e gestão). Elaboraram-se matrizes para cada indicador, sendo estas ponderadas em relação à escala de ocorrência e fator de importância. Técnicos da área de colheita florestal realizaram o preenchimento das matrizes utilizando coeficientes de alteração previamente definidos. O coeficiente de impacto resultou do produto do coeficiente de alteração pelos fatores de ponderação, sendo avaliado numa escala de -15 a +15. O índice geral de impacto foi determinado para o mesmo padrão de escala. De acordo com a média das três avaliações, dois indicadores apresentaram coeficiente de impacto positivo (saúde e gestão); seis mostraram coeficiente negativo (atmosfera, solo, flora, fauna, emprego e paisagismo) e um manteve-se inalterado (água). O índice geral de impacto mostrou-se positivo (1,29), indicando, no contexto global, condições ambienteis favoráveis quando da adoção do subsistema inovado.

This study aimed to evaluate the impacting profile of the technological innovation process on forestry harvesting. We analyzed the innovation process on the traditional subsystem change (chainsaw + forwarder) to the innovative (Feller Buncher + Clambunk Skidder). We used the consolidated method for environmental impact assessment of technological innovation on agro-livestock, which assesses the environmental performance of a certain methodology or technology in relation to that previously established. The method was adapted for the impacts evaluation on forestry harvesting. The impacts were analyzed for the physical media indicators (air, soil, water), biotic (flora and fauna), and anthropic indicators. Matrices were prepared for each indicator, which were weighted in relation to the occurrence scale and importance scale factor. Technicians on the forest harvesting field filled the matrices using changing coefficients previously defined. The impact coefficient resulted from the coefficient changing product by weighting factors, being evaluated on a scale of -15 to +15. The overall impact index has been determined for the same scale pattern. According to three evaluations average, two indicators showed a positive impact coefficient (health and management), six were negative coefficient (air, soil, flora, fauna, landscape, and employment), and one remained unchanged (water). The overall impact index was positive (1.29), indicating in the global context environmental conditions favorable to the innovative subsystem adoption.

O Feller-buncher constitui uma das máquinas mais utilizadas na colheita florestal, cuja principal função é realizar a derrubada e o enleiramento das árvores. Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar técnica e economicamente a derrubada de árvores inteiras com o Feller-buncher, em duas posições distintas de tombamento destas, em florestas de eucalipto (posição 1 = derrubada a 45º e, posição 2 = derrubada a 90º). A análise técnica englobou um estudo de tempos e movimentos e de produtividade. A análise econômica contemplou os parâmetros custo operacional, custo de produção e rendimento energético. Concluiu-se que não houve diferença entre as posições 1 e 2 de derrubada quanto ao tempo para realizar o tombamento das árvores, tendo sido o corte o elemento parcial que consumiu a maior parte do tempo do ciclo operacional, com aproximadamente 66% deste, nas duas posições de derrubada. A produtividade por hora efetiva de trabalho do Feller-buncher foi de, aproximadamente, 347 árvores (48,8 m³/he), o custo operacional de R$ 195,26, proporcionando um custo de produção da máquina de R$ 3,95/m³e um rendimento energético de 3,8 g/W m³; para ambas as posições de derrubada das árvores. Apesar da similaridade em termos de produtividade e custo das duas posições de derrubada avaliadas, recomenda-se tombar as árvores à 45º, devido à maior facilidade de enleiramento destas, bem como no intuito de beneficiar a operação subsequente (extração).

The Feller-buncher is a machine used in for forest harvesting, whose main function is to cut and gather trees. In this study, we performed a technical and economical analysis of felling whole trees with the Feller-buncher in two different areas of eucalyptus stands (position 1 = cut to 45th and position 2 = cut to 90th). The technical analysis included a study of times and movements and of productivity. The economical analysis evaluated the parameters of operational cost, production cost, and energy income. Positions 1 and 2 did not differ with regard to tipping, as to the time to complete the registration of the trees and was cutting the partial element that consumed most of the operational cycle time, with approximately 66% of this, the two positions dropped. The productivity per effective hour of work of the Feller-buncher was approximately 347 trees (48.8 m³/he), the operating cost of R$195.26, giving a production cost of the machine from R$3.95 per m³ and an efficiency of 3.8 g /W m³ for both positions of felled trees. Despite the similarity in terms of productivity and cost of the two positions evaluated, we recommend cutting trees down to 45 th, due to ease of overturning these and to facilitate subsequent operations (extraction).

Este trabalho buscou ilustrar um cenário de alternativas na cobrança de impostos, baseado em diferentes métodos de depreciação. A referência foi a atividade de transporte florestal, sendo o estudo desenvolvido para o caminhão bitrem. O fluxo de caixa foi calculado antes e depois dos impostos, sendo estes determinados com base num porcentual incidido sobre a renda tributável, que variou em função das metodologias utilizadas no cálculo da depreciação. Após a elaboração do fluxo de caixa pós-impostos, realizou-se um estudo econômico utilizando o Valor Presente Líquido (VPL). O impacto do imposto de renda ocasionou retrações na VPL de 53,36%, 52,22%, 50,54%, 48,07% e 47,72% quando se consideraram, respectivamente, os seguintes métodos de depreciação: soma inversa dos dígitos, fundo de renovação, linear, exponencial e soma dos dígitos. A metodologia mais compatível para o bitrem foi a mesma que apresentou maior VPL (soma dos dígitos), indicando que o método adotado pelo governo pode acarretar sobrecarga tributária. Isso reflete a necessidade de se estabelecerem critérios mais justos na cobrança de impostos, através da adoção de metodologias mais adequadas às realidades dos equipamentos.

This work sought to illustrate a scenario of alternatives to taxation, based on different methods of depreciation. The parameter was the forest transportation activity, being the study developed for the Bitrem truck. Cash flow was calculated before and after taxation, which values were determined on the basis of a percentage on the taxable income, varying according to the methodologies used for calculating depreciation. After drawing up the post-taxation cash flow, an economic study was carried out using Net Present Value (NPV). The impact of the income tax caused a reduction in NPV of 53.36%, 52.22%, 50.54%, 48.07% and 47.72% respectively when considering the following methods of depreciation: inverse sum of the digits ; sinking fund; linear; exponential and sum of the digits. The most suitable methodology for the forest truck was the same that gave the largest NPV (sum of the digits), indicating that the method adopted by the government can result in tax overload. This shows the need for establishing better taxation rules, using more suitable methods for these types of machines.
